No wonder the list of expectations is growing, there are so many more sits I scroll past than there used to be! I am not really traveling across country to spend the whole day planning around a dog’s schedule which is sort of nuts to start with. Morning walk yep, evening walk, sure thing, middle of the day, exploring for me!

If I ran a sitting platform, I would give free months / create an ambassador type of thing, where you for example get 1 free month for every first timer host or sitter you take. First timers come with added risk, and can (though usually are not) require a bit of showing ropes. For the second reason I think ambassador status would be good thing, for example you need to have had 10 sits and need to just read couple of articles, and first of all to be prepared to be extra supportive - and first timers would know that so they would be more calm about asking questions and admitting shortcomings. I often hear stories about misguided hosts like the one above, and see reviews to first time sitters where the host goes “sitter was enthusiastic but needs a lot of guidance”. Before the massive advertisement budget THS did virtually have that: reference codes need to be found in a context, and the person recommending the site will be the one doing the ambassador work.

LOL, yes, as sitters and HOs, we have served as a coach for new homeowners on the platform. They’ve enjoyed the info and of course, we directed them to the Forum as well. That way, they can gather feedback and support on a wide range of topics.

I imagine this would be much more helpful to the overall success of THS than that “Trusted Tailsonfire” thing for “influencers”
