Today is sunny here though and it looks as if we’re over the worst!
Hi I’m on my last day at Estepona Golf . The sun is here too and what a difference that makes! Long walk with the dog ! Dry packing the car. Clothes drying! It’s all looking more bearable now!
Winnie loves all the puddles and lagoons! And yes she got the biscuit that came with my welcome coffee in the sun. I shall miss my charges terribly! The weather for two long weeks? Not so much!
My friend lives in a mountain town above Benidorm. Said he’s never seen so bad storms and cool temperatures in 17 years of living there.
Think he’s had 3 major weather alerts this winter from the government warning of high flood risk and a danger to life! 
It’s truly worrying When one has no control and lives and homes get swept away! This place has seen little real damage but then I’ve basically sat tight for two weeks as suggested by the authorities! Some uprooted trees, some subsidence of Sandy banks but the buildings have stood the test! Those still being built have been delayed by workmen being laid off ( quite rightly) but I must say I’m impressed with the planting of trees and the buildings themselves, many of which appear empty at present. The lagoons have pumping mechanisms to regulate the artificial reservoirs. The actual rivers are a different matter and roads have been closed near burst river banks.
I travel back to Madrid tomorrow and will take all the toll roads I can get! Near the mountains of Madrid Province the snow is the new protagonist.

Thanks so much Maggie.. I don’t really want to go at this point but I’ll be ready tomorrow after a good night’s sleep with these two! Winnie knows the bed time routine as I take the sofa blankets up the stairs she brings her toy, almost the same size as she is, up the stairs in unison.
The cat joins us after lights out so Winnie isn’t as jealous as she would be in the daylight! Winnie often needs reminding that mine is the bigger blanket but that’s ok, she knows I’m the boss, I’m sure of it.
