@Brightlight thanks for that. When did you fly with them? I did a bit of checking, apparently they were banned from flying into the EU in 2019, they still list some cities on their website, but unclear if you can get flights.
@Cathie KL to Gatwick last April. Milan to HCMC in early November…so very recently.
@Brightlight cheers for that, had thought that since the ban they had fixed that as it appeared they were flying more recently. I am one of those odd people looking for a three stop route Australia to Europe as a 13 or 14 hour leg is just too long for me, and not interested in Dubai/Doha stop overs. Will just have to keep searching, I’m flying the end of next year so its a bit early yet.
@cathie Just found flights from HCMC and KL through to Frankfurt, Milan and London on 2nd Sept…around 320 USD ish o/w. Including 40 kg luggage. So still flying apparently.
Cheers @Brightlight found that so once I work out my dates it could work ok. Did you stop over, or just transit?
@cathie. Just transited in the airport the last 2 times. We spent a few days while transiting overland independently from Uzbekistan to Iran in 2012. Visas are tricky for an actual stay. You’ll need to be on a tour.
@Brightlight thanks for that info, seems it may have changed a bit recently, Aussies can get 30 days visa free and it does appear that people are arranging independent travel. Definitely good flight legs that way. Will explore more, thanks for your help.
@Cathie maybe its about to change which would be great. But we still need a visa and LOI according to Smart Traveller today.
@Brightlight stupid AI, when I googled it said 30 days visa free entry! Never trust google without checking further, I say this all the time, just need to follow my own advice. Thanks ![]()
