Since I joined THS several years ago, I’ve always been able to line up great sits in Mexico during the winter. It seemed like a number of sits I was excited about popped up on a daily basis, but this year they are a few and far between and tend to have way more pets than I want to handle as a solo sitter (3 or more dogs, 8 cats etc.), are too short of length to justify the travel (anything less than 10 days for me) or are advertised last minute and are just two cost prohibitive for travel. Mostly, just curious if anybody else has noticed a similar trend and has any thoughts on what might be going on. Feeling quite disappointed as for many years I’ve had solid plans to sit in Mexico lined up way before the end of the year.
That sounds like you are seeing the left-overs, the sits that did not get to review status within an hour or so.
Perhaps, but I have a text alert on for Mexico and I pay pretty close attention to it. Even the alerts seem to be for short sits or last minute sits or other things that just are not a good fit. Last year I would get 5+ alerts a day this year I maybe get one.

There is a house sit site just for Mexico. Perhaps more people are using it. The sits are usually quite nice. If you google you can find it. I get a weekly email. There are usually 6 to 8 sits each week.

Do you belong to the paid one or the free one?
I wasn’t looking last year at this time (I live here, so have ongoing alerts in case I want to travel some), but I have noticed that sits have dropped off since this summer and autumn.
Its a paid one but i have only signed uo for alerts - so i haven’t. There is a Facebook group too. Its free.
Right. On the free one I see too many “Sit cancelled at the last minute” posts to make me feel comfortable. I prefer THS.
