Just wondering. I’m new on this app and want to make sure I’m not missing something. I see new sits that are under review is there any way to apply while waiting for its approval ! The next thing you see the review has been approved and it’s booked. Am I just too slow???
Welcome to THS @67chicklets. If a listing is under review, you cannot apply for it. You can only hope the owners will decline one or more of the 5 applications they have received thenmanually unpause the listing to be able to receive more applications.
@67chicklets In the mean time, “Favourite” the listing so you will get notice of future dates, including if the PP in pauses the current listing.
It’s a problem. In popular places/places where there are relatively few sits the sit can go to reviewing in seconds. Nothing you can do but, as has been suggested, favorite so the HO knows you are interested, set up alerts (but sit will often be gone by the time you get an alert) and just keep checking the location regularly.
@67chicklets unfortunately you cannot but if it’s a sit you like then make sure to favourite it that way you’ll get notified if it frees up again.
There is a 5 application limit so you have to apply straight away. Some sits in popular locations get filled up in a matter of seconds.
For us it works to our advantage as we are on our phones all the time
If a sit goes in seconds, what i would like to know is how fast can you write an application letter?. I put a lot of thought into mine and of course then it’s too late. How long should the application be, and obviously you have to mention their pets. Is it best to have a template and just fill in the animals names??? Your advice and suggestions please
You only need to open the application window fast enough. And maybe click the dates.
After that, you can take as much time as you want. To read, to decide, to write, or to close that window again.
Your application can come in as number seven or eight, it does not matter how long you take.
Oh! Well thank you. I have learned something - what a twit I’ve been
Not at all. The problem is that THS does not tell us this. It could be in a prompt on the application page: “Take your time to write a well-considered application, there is no hurry as long as you keep this window active.”
THS don’t tell anyone about holding the the application open as it wasn’t an intentional feature but a side effect of how how thier application works. It doesn’t stop you from applying when it hits 5 applications it just edits the listing page so the link and details to apply are no longer there. If you already have it open it doesn’t matter. Just be careful nothign happens to refresh your web browser or it may disappear
Thank you.
Thanks. I was looking to see how to mark as a favourite but not seeing where. TIA
