Hitch-hiking? Really?
I had two couchsurfing/bewelcome/trustroots guests here this month that were hitchhiking, a couple and a young woman. It was an amazingly efficient way of transportation for them. Also earlier, for two Polish girls. Much faster than the bus.
Oh dear! I shouldnât think thatâs normal but I am a sitter, not an owner. However, I would never do those things and do not consider them acceptable requests. Asking to leave for three days during a sit is actually quite funnyâŚand a bit strange:) Your expectations sound fine and reasonable but, whatever the case, they are your expectations and as long as you are clear about them you have the right to decline anyone you choose. My expectations as a sitter are high and I turn down quite a lot of requests, which is not to say theyâre not good offers itâs just that they are not to my taste, which is ultimately the only criteria that matters. The onus is on all of us to be straightforward and transparent with what weâre bring to the arrangement. And no one should be charging a small fee for anything. Iâm sure you will find someone , it just takes a bit longer sometimes. Good luck! x
