Hi All,
This might be a bit of an odd question but I’m hoping to get some help.
We are currently on a housesit in a rural setting in NSW (until end of April) and the Bushfire season is coming up and it’s predicted to be quite a bad one.
My partner and I have a plan in place to get us and the animals outta dodge should it be necessary (as agreed upon with the owners). This would mean taking only strictly necessary belongings and leaving behind everything else we own in the owners home (which being full-time house sitters is pretty much our entire ‘home contents’).
Should cross fingers this doesn’t happen but should the homeowners place burn down all of our belongings would also go up in flame. I’ve looked into contents insurance but I don’t think it applies because we are not technically ‘renting’
I’m not sure whether I need to keep digging to look for any insurance that will cover our personal belongings. We do not have a fixed home address as we housesit full-time.
It’s a very strange situation im just hoping for any advice or information.
Thanks so much in advance.
Ellen
