@newpetlover Thanks very much. I appreciate your insight and advice. But I’ve never been a big fan of “that’s just the way it is.” I work at a huge corporation and it takes a year to fix a simple search function. These folks just need to get this * done.

@Twitcher Just to beat this apparently dead horse (not the best colloquialism for this setting, I realize), but how the heck did “we” ever put a human in the moon?
The ironic thing is we did have a key/legend on the calendar but someone in their wisdom removed it. How hard can it be to put it back?

@RichardNYC, gotta laugh. Yep, you are not the only currently or formerly progressive professional person in the THS Forum. Alas THS Forum is a voluntary place; that is not read by THS staff; and THS does not report to THS members or THS Forum participants. Unfortunately the get-it-done mindset, by THS Forum participants, simply does not work in this context. Frustration awaits you!
There’s a significant list of seemingly sensible ideas raised on THS Forum, over multiple years, that have not been implemented by THS.
Encourage deep breath. Give up on THS silly calendar. And move on to positive aspects of housesitting.

@richardnyc Most sitters don’t do anything with their calendars but if you’re a sitter and are attached to the idea that this is a professional platform as well as everything needing to be clean and perfect you can go through your calendar and input dates that you are specifically available. It’s just the same. And, to be honest, I’ve yet to see a HO who has actually looked at a sitter’s calendar to see if they’re available before sending an invite. I’ve been invited to countless sits even though I’m booked for those dates already.
The calendar does reflect if a sitter is already confirmed for a sit on the platform, so not altogether useless.
You are 100% right. Not the best song. Neither is the Carolina wren nearby. Both beat an ambulance siren, though.

Yes, have had that dilemma for years…get invites for dates where we are not available so then have to reply and not sound that we’re just avoiding the Sit. We assume the Hosts probably won’t offer again if they think we’ve fobbed them off.
