Cleaning normalcy

We all have different standards of cleaning our own home (let alone somebody else’s), however using this chart are you when at home in your own space in the middle or an extreme cleaner or maybe you’re the other end of the very wide spectrum. It would be good to have a ‘clean scale’ so that we could more successfully match expectations between sitter/pet owner. Personally we’re ultra clean and don’t like anything yukky I’ve even added that into our profile! I was told it might put HOs off, well that’s partly the idea to get a good match. Ads that describe a home as homely/casual/easy going aren’t our thing at all but certainly suit others. Our close friends live in a variety of ways so this isn’t judgemental simply pragmatic.

I am in a place now, decently clean. She was actually cleaning as I was here, the night before. But I went to use the toaster oven and horribly dirty. I am not cleaning it, because I make some toast in it. It needs serious scrubbing with SOS pads, steel wool and more. Not my job. People’s idea of clean varies so much.

I suppose it’s also about forgiveness in some cases as one yukky thing could simply mean an oversight in the rush to get ready to go away.

There is yukky and there is “not been cleaned in 2 years”

I’d house sit for you!! lol. (I know you’re a sitter not an HO)
I always love a listing that mentions they have a house keeper. We’ve had a few of those…so reassuring!
