You were lucky to find that other sitter. Yours is the perfect example why it should be possible for sitters to contact each other. As long as that’s not happening, I’ll continue treating a missing review as a red flag. Of course, I also double check if the HO left a review for that particular sitter.

It’s not always a red flag. I did a sit several years ago where the homeowners asked me not to leave a review. I didn’t meet them in person, and got the sense that they were just quite private people, eg. no photos of their home in the listing (I just loved the photos of the dogs, so applied anyway)! It would definitely have been a 5-star review had I left one.
