Semiretired Canadian couple would enjoy meeting up with anyone in the area of Dénia, Alicante, etc.
Are you pet/housesitting in the area?
Yes, we have a 5 1/2 week sit near Dénia, then a 5 day sit near Alicante.
It’s a lovely area and I live there part of the time but I’m not sure when I’ll be back out. If you’ve any questions about the region I might be able to answer them. Be warned - our purchase of an apartment out there resulted from a sit a few years ago!!!
Too funny! We’ll stay in touch
Just bumping this thread incase anyone happens to be in the area over these dates.
So we’re settled in to our sit in Benadoleig, and have rented a car. Any suggestions on the most interesting things to do? The dogs require 3 to 4 walks per day, so our free time is limited…
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Just on my way to airport to fly to Alicante. Don’t recognise the place name but will have a look shortly.
Hi @Nancy.Lorne you will find the Prehistoric Cave Cueva de las Calaveras very near to you in the Benadoleig area which you might enjoy. It’s an extensive 900 metre-long cavern system with rock formations like stalactites and stalagmites plus fossils. Just for reference you can also start a new thread if you wanted to, looking for recommendations in the area.
Great! We’re not far from Alicante
Hi Nancy-Lorne,
I visited Denia on Monday, currently holidaying in Javea, then going to Benidorm for a house-sit until the end of March.
I’m keen to meet up with you both.
Cheers
Glenda
Hola Glenda!
We can meet anytime, anywhere. What works for you?
Nancy y Lorne
We like Jávea. We have an Airbnb booked near there, for 2 nights between sits.
There’s a great cafe / resto / bar with patio in Benidoleig, called Ballestra. It’s dog friendly.

Hi @Nancy.Lorne
Lovely area of Spain you’re sitting in. My father lived for 15 years in Javea and I have a friend who lives in the hills above Benidorm. Do enjoy yourself.
Gracias richten1 !
