Customer Service

I don’t know if others feel this way, but I’ve been so frustrated with THS customer service, which seems just about non-existent. I had an incident with a housesitter that fell and broke an expensive lamp. He had no money to compensate me nor did he offer. I have tried to contactTHS throgh the bot Frankie. First it said it would send an insurance form to my email, which I never got (also checked my spam folder). The said it would get me in touch with someone who copuld help me, then nothing happened??? There seems to be NO WAY to get in touch with a real person unless you call the emergency number. What is going on? I pay for a membership that is supposed to have insurance.

Ask the bot for a Human, someone will email you. Has worked for me.

I’ve had the same experience with member services. The chatbot, always says agents are busy, but someone will follow up by email..they don’t. When I reach out by email or call the urgent number, the responses are not relevant, as if the agents are reading from a script that doesn’t quite address the request.

You need to check with your household insurance first. As has been said countless times here on the forum, THS is a matching service. It is not their responsibility to settle such matters. Breakages happen, and you might have broken this lamp at some stage in the future. Yes, it’s a shame that the sitter didn’t offer to pay towards it, as I would have done, but we’re all different. Were your pets looked after well?

I’m new to this site, but yup, my cat was well cared for were. I’m not going to make a claim to my homeowner’s insurance for a $200 broken lamp. The process is ridiculously long and complicated to get THS to pay for it anyway. I will change my subscription to the lowest level next time probably.

Maybe totally irrelevant for your situation but we did a sit involving kittens who loved to sit and wrestle on windowsills. This meant various pot plants were knocked off deliberately or accidentally depending on the kittens behaviour. I moved a lot of plants to stop this happening. Unfortunately accidents do happen and I hope your lamp is not a cherished irreplaceable one.

I regularly sit for one cat, Audrey, who has knocked over lamps, vases, etc.
I suggested this product to the HO and it has been quite successful

Aww, thank you for responding to my post. All good. It was a family heirloom, but not destroyed. Will cost about $200 to totally fix. Had to be rewired and a new lampshade. The shade had to be special ordered because of the uniqueness. I’ll just eat the cost and learn a lesson. Don’t count on THS for these kind of things. Will be changing my membership.
