Different prices for premium in AUD?

Hi,

we are first time sitters, currently doing a four weeks sit in Australia. It’s been great so far!

However, I somehow stumbled upon the pricing page lately. And as we are in Australia now I got to see the price for the premium membership we have bought back home.

And I am not sure if it’s me but there seems to be a real gap between the Australian and the European price.

When taking a look at the pictures you see that the AUD is almost 100 € less than the Euro price.

What’s wrong here?

Sorry… 229 Australian Dollar equals 130.67 Euro.

Advantage in being an Aussie. We did notice recently that the numerical value was the same for a number of things whilst in Europe ie things costing €5 that would cost $5 at home.

I advise my referrals to use a vpn set to Australia when they join, for that very reason.

There was a discrepancy in the Canadian prices as well, at least when I joined. I noticed because I happened to be in Canada when I signed up, & got the better price by paying in that currency. (No xfer fees on my CC so… )

Not sure how they plan to charge me when/if I renew, though. I expect it should be in my original currency/pricing, unless they notify me otherwise?

There has always been a wide difference in pricing from country to country for THS membership I don’t know how THS come up with their prices but I expect it’s what the local market will accept. Like @Cathie says, Europe & UK prices in general for everything have the right number but with a different currency symbol. I’ve just come back from 6 weeks in the UK, and have spent several months there over the last few years and everything is double the price in the UK compared to Australia, due to our terrible AUD/GBP exchange rate ($1 = £0.50). But cost of living in Australia is much cheaper than UK & Europe. Last week a flat white in the UK cost me £4.50 ($9.00), yesterday here at home it cost me $4.50 (£2.25).

Yep, our dollar just doesn’t go very far. No wonder some people have been complaining about the high charge, all depends on where you sign up. Certainly sitting in the UK made the trip more affordable for us.
