There’s a good chance I would, and thereby deprive myself of a ‘give-it-a-try’ opportunity.
I´d need, however, to be at the location so that the pet and I can meet prior to accepting the sit.
I was humbled today coming across a lady walking her 5 rescue dogs. I loved the fact some had coats on because they didn’t have furry coats of their own. She even had the option to be carried home if the trip appeared to be too long for the more elderly or short- legged of the brood. They all got on so well!
Hats off to this lady!
She has definitely graduated with full honours!
Why would you filter out breeds you might be interested in at a particular location? I don’t get it.
Good onner! And glad she’s in sports gear, because that’s a lot of bending-and-stretching to pick up poo, right there…….
Yes, it would be contradictory to filter out breeds that you’d consider sitting. For me and I suspect others, there are certain breeds that are red-line, non-negotiable and I don’t care how cute the owner says there dog is, regardless of location.
I was thinking about mutts: There might seem to be fewer of them nowadays, because you can get DNA tests for dogs and identify their backgrounds. So now maybe you can say you have an X, X, X dog, instead of a mutt.
My dog is a mutt, but visibly a terrier, with ears that give away part of what he is specifically — they told us at the shelter or we wouldn’t have known. But he’s twice the typical size for his breed, so he must be mixed with a midsize or large breed.
