I had a late cancellation from a sitter who had been confirmed for a month and now I’m really struggling to find anyone, despite upgrading to premium membership.
My dates on the listing say 6-22 July, but they are actually really flexible, and of course sitters can only see dates that coincide with theirs.
I have ‘invited’ quite a few sitters based in UK but no luck so far.
Never known it so quiet for sitters!
Any advice anyone please?

Sorry to hear about the cancellation. I know that must be stressful. The best thing to do would be to note the flexibility in your listing heading (right at the beginning ideally) so people can see it right away when looking through listings .
While any sitter whose current bookings coincide with any portion of your listed dates would not be able to contact you unfortunately, that still leaves plenty of people who can potentially see it and apply.

If you are flexible and not getting applications now, I would rebook it with the latest date you are willing to take your vacation or business trip. Worth a try as there may be a larger pool of sitters who are not booked.

@Lassie had a great idea!
Post another set of dates (i.e. for just one night in November) and add to your listing, right at the top— PLEASE apply to the November dates if you want to discuss the flexible July dates!
Sitters who overlap your long July sit cannot reach out to you unless you do this. The “apply” button is grayed out and says “You are already busy with a sit.”
Take your sit offline for a day and then put it back on, so that it will show as “new” and trigger notifications.
Have you reached out to sitters who have “favourited” your profile?

Great idea! But I say that with some bitterness, as someone who’s genuinely looking for sits in November.

And just to clarify, the one-night sit in November (or whenever) is just a dummy sit, not a real one. I make that clear in my listings.

AlisonB I’ve had a lot of luck inviting the sitters who have favorited my listing. Of course I check their profile first to see if the dates are available for them.
