@Ken we Aussies don’t use “cobba” these days (if ever), probably more for the movies that one. If you really want to learn how to speak proper Australian, you need to watch every episode of Kath & Kim.

Then to really understand who we Aussies are watch The Castle.

Isn’t that right @ziggy @temba @Tasmazias ?

@Amparo & @Smiley you might want to brush up on your Australian lingo while you’re still in country. The next time you see a beautiful serene view say to the Australian next to you “How’s the serenity?” and they will nod and sigh.

BTW Kath & Kim is on Netflix Australia & The Castle is on Stan. You’re welcome!

@Crookie though we don’t actually act like the people in these movies lol I think it would go waaay over the top of most non-Australian’s heads, these movies are filled with our dry sense of humour which could leave most scratching their heads. They are definitely unique to us but not sure we actually act like it in real life :joy: Still two of my favourite movies of all time though

I don’t think our old mate Ken will be replying here anytime soon I’m afraid. Come back, Ken, we miss you! :joy:

First season Kim and Kath downloaded!
Thanks!
Though I have to say I am having a blast with my wonderful « third party » locals.
This has been an extraordinary experience.
Will do a proper write up shortly.

Oh Amparo, I hope you don’t go crazy watching it. They are like icons to us but I fear many won’t pick up on the humour, it probably doesn’t get any drier. You must always say “noice” not nice remember :joy: So happy to hear you have been having such a blast here, we’ll see you again I know :kangaroo:

Oh no! The time seems to have gone so quickly. It’s been such a wonderful sit @Amparo and you’ve really embraced your time there.

@temba truly this experience has been up there as one of the absolute best.
I have been so caught up in the moments that I have been negligent in sharing.
I have lots of pics and vids and I have been writing some of my experiences with intention to share.
The people I have met, what they have shared with me, the wildlife that comes to visit me has been unbelievable.
This was worth waiting for.

I’m so happy for you @Amparo. It’s a beautiful part of Oz and you’ll take it with you. So glad you’re writing and recording once again.
Maybe we’ll get to meet in the UK next year!

Such a hoot, Fellow ‘Ostralian’! Love ‘Kath and “Look at me, look at me” Kimmy’. When living in Northern Ireland a couple of years ago, I did want to use my bodhran to hit an Irishman on the head for continually saying to me in greeting “G’day Sheila, gotcha shrimp on the barbie, Cobber??”.
Kept my cool, just called him ‘Paddy’ and said " To be sure, to be sure on this top of the morning", which no Irishman actually ever says!!
