Hi! Verrry Nice…
How many people (or dogs) know the heel command?
Joking apart, when I walk dogs on BorrowMyDoggy here in England, at the first meeting/interview if I agree to walk them I then record their doggy commands so that I can learn their particular language nuances….and ‘heel’ can be anything from ‘get here’ to ‘come ‘ere’ to ‘puppy ho’ (this was an old dog!) also ‘heel dammit’ and ‘come round’…. all with different intonations too.
When we had our Beagles, I’m sure people thought their names were Get Here and Now.
All we seemed to shout was “Get here!”, “Now!”
I know of friends of friends that named their dog Eileen just so they could walk the streets calling out ‘come on Eileen’
Thanks @Colin, now I can’t get that song out of my head! 🫨
Next to “sit” I determined it’s the MOST common in the US.
I sent this to previous homeowners because they call me dog whisperer, cat whisperer, horse…
They all sent all kinds of laughter emojis.
Thanks!
