Hello!
My name is Jessica, and I’m from southwestern Ohio. I’m a homeschooling mom and assist my husband with sales for his remediation business. I’m also an avid runner training for a half marathon in Brevard County, Florida, where I hope to connect with a pet owner in need of a reliable caregiver for my first sit in February.
My daughter and I decided to combine our shared love of animals, travel, and fitness by joining Trusted Housesitters. We enjoy exploring new places while providing dependable, attentive care for homes and pets. Our goal is to give homeowners complete peace of mind, treating every home and animal with the same respect and care we give our own.
We have plenty of hands-on experience caring for a variety of animals, including our 11-year-old German Shepherd (Jedai), three cats (Squid, Jack, and Cookie), 15 laying hens, and a cockatiel named Mango, who is primarily cared for by my youngest daughter.
We’re excited about the opportunity to coordinate sits with running events around the country, experience new communities, and build connections with both pets and their people along the way.

You’ve joined the Forum so you’ll be able to read many of the threads that reveal useful lessons for sitters. There’s a lot to learn so take notes. I did this when I first started, and this saved me from agreeing to sits that weren’t going to be a good match.
Have you created your website profile as yet? Have you joined as a paid up member as yet?
Make sure you read the T&Cs these are very important to understand.

Welcome to the Forum Jessica. It sounds like you and your daughter will be great pet sitters. Yes, there is a lot to learn by reading other threads on the forum, and members will be happy to review your profile to help you tweak it for the best impression. I am currently sitting in Florida, and I can tell you that there are few February sits here, and they are quite competitive. The holidays and summer are when there are an abundance of sits in Florida. The odds that you will be invited to sit in a specific area of Florida, without having any reviews yet, is quite slim. Following running events! What a perfect way to use sits as a travel hack! Welcome! I hope you find what you are looking for. The filters will allow you to look for sits in during the dates and at the locations you need. Be aware that some places are more desirable to sitters than others. Good luck!

Thank you for the warm welcome and for the heads-up. I’m realizing that coordinating race dates and locations may be a bit challenging as new members. We currently have one review. A second reviewer should be posting soon, and hopefully, that will help.
Thank you for the welcome and for the advice. Yes, we just joined as paid members. We are working to get some of the individuals we’ve done housesitting and pet sitting for to post reviews, which will hopefully help to get us started here.
