Hello

Thanks
Hi @Eva75, welcome to the forum. I’m sure you are going to enjoy the THS experience.
Welcome @Eva75 !
Learn and Enjoy!
@Eva75
Signed, sealed, delivered- I’m yours!
Thanks @Newpetlover I’m sure I will!
Thanks @Garfield can’t wait
LOL thanks @Hallt64
Welcome @Eva75
Waving at you from my home base in Harrow (north west London). Nice dog, staffie?
I’m not sure if you’re here as a sitter or sitter/pet owner looking for people to spend time with your beautiful Mocha? Either way you’ll have great fun here.
Hey @richten1 hello!
I’m here as pet owner yes Mocha is a staffy/ pointer cross
I have the feeling this is going to be great being here thanks x
You’ll find lots of great people to spend time with Mocha in London. London sits tend to go quick!
Yes indeed ! I got several applications so far but I’m a bit anxious because it’s my first listing and ideally I would like someone with a car because in the past Mocha was sick while we were away and the couple who looked after her didn’t drive and it was quite stressful. Besides she has now some skin problems and she started te get some medication for it and we are going on holiday at the beginning of September for two weeks. She is already booked for boarding with a couple, they are okay but I’m not 100 % happy with them and they cost me a fortune. That’s why I’m here but I don’t know if I can make it.
Lots of young couple here in London available but they don’t drive
Benvenuti Eva, Giulio e Mocha!
Hi @Eva75
Having a car bit for many Londoners could be an issue. There is no parking around me in Greater London, not even on the street. Then of course you’ve got ulez and the congestion charge to consider in London. If the sitter didn’t drive maybe a pet uber could be the answer in a emergency? I cared for a cat that needed chemo treatment in Lisbon where the vets was across town so the pet owner organised pet ubers.
It’s not really fair to expect a sitter to have a car in case of pet sickness or any kind of transportation @Eva75 - that’s for the HO to cover. Pet Uber is a good idea, a nice local taxi number is another, a close friend or emergency contact too; lots of people don’t want pets in their cars or with a hire care it’s often not allowed at all. In London with all the zones & charges doubly so. For you guys, best bet is to have a plan B with vet and transport in place before the sit starts. #planningiseverything
Welcome @Eva75 I have found your listing and you are offering the sitter a sofa bed to sleep on .
If you are also expecting them to bring their car ( which if not Ulez compliant will
Cost them £12.50 a day ( £175
for the fortnight) . Is Congestion Charge also applicable to you area ? That’s an additional £15 per day . (£210 for the fortnight )
If a car is essential please add this to your listing and , explain the ulez and cc charges that will apply . You could offer to reimburse the sitter for these expenses . Alternatively leave them your car to use.
A sofa bed will put off many sitters . Consider offering the sitter the main bedroom with a proper bed .
Your location will appeal to overseas visitors who will not have a car - so having your own plan in place for any emergency transportation for Mocha as @Cuttlefish and @richten1 have already suggested is a good idea .
You haven’t disclosed this medical condition in your listing - which is required in the THS T&Cs . Please add this and the treatment required to the responsibilities section .
Also you haven’t said how long Mocha can be left alone for . Sitters like to know this before applying .
If you don’t get back promptly to the sitters that have already applied - they may get accepted for other sits or need to book flights so you may loose out on them altogether whilst looking for “better” options . Please get back to your applicants quickly and advise them of Mocha’s current medical conditions .
Grazie! @Peonie19
Hi @richten1 we don’t live in central London we are in zone 4 and we have off street parking . It’s flagged in the details" parking’ in my listing. Do sitters can read this? We don’t live in a congestion charge either, even Greenwich village is not in the congestion charge and for the Ulez zone we are just outside. But yes maybe a pet uber could be useful, thanks!
Hi @Silversitters
The sofa bed did not put off any sitter so far If you have found my listing you can see that the double sofa bed is quite big and in the guest room, this is used for friends and family when they come over and everybody says that this sofa bed is very comfortable . Is it mandatory offering the sitter the maim bedroom? I would probably do so if I didn’t have lovely guest room to offer
As explained already at @richten1 we don’t have Ulez/congestion charge issues and we also have off street parking
I’ll disclose Moche medical condition, she got sick yesterday and my partner got her to the vet, I"m in Italy atm so it’s been a bit frantic, bear with me
I flagged up to 4 hours, how much time Mocha can be left alone in the details on my listing, but I realise just now that “this will not appear on my listing” which does not make sense to me? but this is why I did’s say that
I’m dealing with all the applicants don’t worry, I’m doing my best here, it’s my first listing and I’m still learning
Hi @Cuttlefish Thanks for the suggestion
That’s helpful Information to add to your listing as sitters just see London and don’t know your exact location .
Sitters don’t see the welcome guide information at the application stage . Maybe that is where you have already put this information?
The THS platform is not very intuitive or user friendly for owners to know what information is visible to sitters I hope you find the feedback from the forum helpful .
Once you get 5 applications your listing will be paused and no one else can apply until you decline any unsuitable applications.
