Just seen advertised for Seaford, UK. 3 dates caring for a dog & openly stating 23 year old son staying in house but very quiet and works 12 hours a day. Surely under T&Cs not allowed?
Definitely not allowed @Sarah22 - please flag and report listing to support@trustedhousesitters.com - no third parties allowed at home during the sit
Not allowed. Report to
support@trustedhousesitters.com
with the url
I’ve seen that too and reported it …it’s not hidden it right in the first paragraph even more strange is that for 2 of the dates listed they already have maxed out the 5 applications and the other date has 4 applications!!
No review left by previous sitter .
It appears that the attraction of a hot tub compensates for having someone else living in the home during the stay !!
I have today reported two others where other people are in the home during a sit. What’s going on!
Hi @Silversitters. I was astonished to see it. Can only assume HO has not read T&Cs. Yes, also noted previous sitter did not leave a review. Have also reported it.
@ziggy. Indeed, hope this is not a sign of the future. Suprised listings not checked when posted by THS.
The presence of someone else living there would make me unlikely to ever use the hot tub!
According to THS they check listings when the owner first joins and then the owner is free to alter it without any further checks. I suppose it is also possible that THS don’t check it properly the first time either.
And the listing is still there. How many reports does it take to have THS take the listing down? And why are so many sitters applying? A hot tub sure wouldn’t do it for me with those circumstances.
One suspects that the parents are secretly hoping that their son will stop being glued to his computer screen when there is a pretty young woman around.
For example in that hot tub.
That’s rather heteronormative of you.
I had the proposal of a 14 year old staying with me!
Regardless of the THS policy it’s a definite NO from me. In addition to not feeling as relaxed with a stranger around its fraught with risk in so many ways, first personal safety but also random things like what if the house gets burgled as a window was left open by the housemate and they blamed you? Or if something was broken, again it could potentially get messy and stressful!
This reminds me that most people never read Terms & Conditions for nearly anything.
The parents did not want to get their son a (bald) guy
Maybe a man will be better, or maybe he’s flexible. Perhaps his parents are trying to help him meet someone
I am so fed up with this - why should sitters have to take on the role of monitoring the site? Surely it is up to THS to ensure that all sits meet their T&C’s and shouldn’t have to rely on us sitters pointing out sits that don’t comply? I have also suggested a simple way with a programming tweak to remind owners of the T&Cs each time they list but have never had any feedback on this. I have reported a number of sits in the past that don’t comply (third parties in the house, no overnight sit etc) but no longer bother as it doesn’t seem a priority for THS to address this so I guess I am just wasting my time.
I am so with you on this. I would hate to do a sit with s family member being present. I once got accepted for a sit and was told that a lodger would be present but don’t worry you wont have to wash his grundys!
A HO whom I’d confirmed a sit with tried to change terms later, saying their 30-something son had moved back to town and would overlap with my sit. Nope.
ThS support have contacted the HO and taken the sit off the platform. This was done promptly. Feel a bit guilty now not normally a dobber.
