As a homeowner (and housesitter incidentally), I would regard this as a problem with the homeowner. Some of those expectations placed upon you were unreasonable to say the least. The poor dog was obviously not well, and it seems like a big ask to me for you to provide that level of care. Personally, I would be looking at the 18 positive reviews and making my decision based on those rather than this one off 1star review. Don’t lose your enthusiasm or confidence in your ability to care for other animals in future sits. All the best💐
