When would you start looking for long sits for June and July next year. I have been a sitter for a couple of years and am now thinking of looking for a sitter for my pets so my son can go to Europe with me. New Mexico might not be someone’s top choice in summer so I would make my listing very attractive by offering a car and allow families.
It is already published dates for several New Mexico sits next summer, so I would just get my listing ready and publish it. Sitters that really want to stay longer in NM might otherwise be commited to other shorter sits when they would have preferred yours if they could and had known.
Especially for a long sit, if you know the dates, list now.

Your sit is what I would call an anchor sit. It’s got good dates so go ahead and publish it now and you’ll get decent people.

List as soon as you can. Many sitters book far ahead, especially for longer sits. I recently confirmed a 3-month sit for the summer.

@Enjaybee I love you anchor sit terminology. Yes, anchor sits are great because you can create a whole itinerary of pet sits around it.

I book sits that are 2 weeks or longer as far as a year in advance. Good luck!
