We’re doing some early research to better understand how members use search on Trusted Housesitters and how it could work even better in the future. This work is exploratory. We’re gathering feedback, testing ideas, and learning directly from members so we can make informed decisions about potential improvements, your input helps guide our thinking. Some members may receive an email inviting them to share feedback as part of this research. Taking part is completely optional, and participation helps us understand what would be most valuable to the community. We’ll continue sharing updates, listening and learning as we go, and we appreciate everyone who contributes their perspective.

@Silversitters , I believe @Mark_B was referring to a specific exploratory study. General ideas and suggestions for improvement posted on the Forum are passed by us over to the company. They want to hear them, so keep them coming.

Just trying to get clarity on the purpose of this particular thread ? Are all the contributions about the search function being fed back to THS ?

@Silversitters, raising [snowy] hat to wonderfully simple, sensible and persistent question :+1:. Appears that THS current related focus is to solicit targeted input from a few selected members. Guess let’s hope that their contributions are representative, creative and progressive. Any THS effort to improve Search functionality seems welcomed. We’ve expressed plentiful related ideas on other THS Forum threads so will now duck out of this one.

Why are you very selectively passing on certain comments to the “rest of the company”, while systematically ignoring others? 4 comments on Search improvements passed on, even though members have literally been asking for years for ‘no brainer’ improvements to the search and other functions, to absolutely no avail. Plus the 100s of comments on the recently introduced Booking fee: are those ‘great suggestions’ also passed on to the rest of the company? I don’t think so. I think they’re conveniently being ignored as they don’t fit the internal narrative.

Allow members to mark sits ”not this time” and “don’t show me this listing again.” Then, suppress notifications according to those parameters. This is for me the most frustrating part of being a member of THS, so much so that I will not renew unless it is addressed. I spend far too much time reading and dismissing notifications for unsuitable sits.

@torontojay @Mark_B has confirmed that THS are not planning to consider the comments on this thread . [image] Mark_B: The exploratory work is taking place with a small number of members initially.

I’ve been lurking on the forum for a long time and actually signed up to contribute to this thread. I just want a simple KEYWORD SEARCH…you know, the kind that the internet has had for a couple of decades now? I play piano, and I love to do a sit caring for pets and playing the piano, but there’s currently no way to search for ‘piano’. I just look for houses that seem big enough to have a piano in them, or just scroll through photos, skimming the descriptions, wasting my time. This would be helpful for lots of things: people might want an AGA; they want to sit a greyhound specifically; they want some one special thing…and there’s not a keyword search available to find that one special thing. So, that’s my suggestion: add a simple keyword search. [and if any homeowners are reading this and you have a house in the UK with a piano and need a sitter in the first half of May, let me know!! There’s currently no good way to find you!]

Welcome to the forum @WMBS That is a Great suggestion . @Mark_B has confirmed that THS are not planning to consider the comments on this thread as part of the feedback . Which is a great disappointment to those like yourself @WMBS who have taken the time to post a comment .

@Silversitters I would hazard a guess it’s to try and look like they are doing something to justify the new fees. They didn’t bet on you asking such a pertinent question and being outed on it being a cynical exercise.
