Which improvements are you consistently ask for

Are you asking for improvements you consider priorities and necessary ? Can you list them in one clear and concise sentence ?

No longer. The sad truth is… I simply no longer care.

The option for the Home Owner to have the choice of how many applications they want. Not restricted to five.

Geography feature to actually work properly. I looked for a sit on OUTER HEBRIDES 100 miles west of mainland Scotland, and the system returned me some sits on the Scottish mainland. What use is that to anyone, We should be able to choose within 5 miles, 10 miles, 50 miles, 100 miles of our Location that we typed in.

I have mentioned this to Jenny so many times, but nothing changes. Too late for me anyway, I am on my countdown to the Exit door anyway. Going Solo.

The ability to exclude areas from a search. Eg. Europe minus the UK, without having to play Twister with the map function.

A legend for the sitter availability calendar.

Would be 2 of the simplest to implement, I would have thought.

What Id really.like is a transparent development roadmap where we could see what’s coming and when.

Not asking for anything. 99% of all improvements since the 5 applications limit has made applying and pet sitting more difficult and often frustrating. I am not saying what’s the 1% positive improvements so they don’t get removed or monetized.

Geography feature to actually work properly.

Possibility to search on “POOL” (hot countries) … now you have to look at amenities.

In a perfect world, what I would love:

  • being able to filter how many pets in the sit (as a solo travel, not really interested in sits that have 3-4 dogs or 5-6 cats etc.)
  • the previously mentioned geography feature (seeing Europe without UK sits, for example)
  • option to hide listings (say if I do a specific search and see things I definitely don’t want to apply for, I want the option to hide that listing and not having to see it again)
  • make in-site welcome guides mandatory for owners that they have to complete before a sit can be confirmed so the welcome guide can be shared with the sitter once the sit is confirmed so anything that’s unclear can be discussed ahead of time
  • owners having to choose the types of sitters they are open to for the sit (solo, couple/family, both) – so tired of reading listings thoroughly, applying for a sit only then to be told “actually, we want a couple for this”

One thing I’ve brought up and written to the company about is differences on homeowner listings – which many homeowners are completely unaware of – between the website and the app. I know that for me I use an android phone for the app and a laptop with the windows operating system for the website. I mostly use the website, but do sometimes check responses on the app or casually look at the app if I’m away from my laptop.

There used to a separate “pet” section on the listing. This section was cut and added to “responsibilities". The information that was in the “pet” section disappeared from the listings on the web but not on the app. This means that in some cases there is conflicting and inaccurate information on the app. This can be painful, embarressing and weird as a sitter might bring up a long dead pet and the owner knowing they have no current information about the pet on their listing, might find this disconcertting. The sitter might wonder if the homeowner is being honest or if the homeowner “forget” about a pet in the listing.

As a homeowner, when I discovered this issue, I found the only way to fix it was to delete all of my pet information on the app and then start again.

In addition you can write captions under photos on both the web page and the app. However, the captions are not visible when viewed on the web page (at least not on laptops. I have no idea on Macs or tablets.) So if a homeowner put any important information in a caption, the sitter would not see the information if viewed from the website.

This is a very big deal, here’s why: I recently came across a listing that was being shared off site. (A security issue as it is as frankly listings should only be visible to paid memmbers. ) The listing mentioned a dangerous condition – a gas leak in fact – in a photo caption. So a sitter who uses the web page would not even have seen the condition if they didn’t use the app.

As far as I know as I’ve never received an answer about the issue of these discrepancies this isn’t on the table as a change. I don’t expect it to change unless there is a horrible tragedy followed by terrible publicity and a massive lawsuit.

At the very least, homeowners should be informed about the differences so they can take steps to make sure the information on both is correct and accessible to sitters.

As a homeowner I’d love to be able to search for and contact sitters who are interested in house sitting in my area. The current search identifies only people who live near me and want to sit elsewhere.

Allowing to apply for sits overlapping your current sit by one day. It doesn’t make no sens not being able to move on to another sit the day your sit ends.

Disable automatic decline notifications.

If we want to maintain a courteous community spirit, people need to write a short personal message.

Let’s stop treating people like internet buttons.

The same goes for declined invitations sent by HO’s.

You are able to start and finish sits on the same day @Solela.

@temba You can’t apply for a sit starting the last day of your current sit. The system considers that you are already busy with an other sit.

You can @Solel!

@temba thank you !

Is this new ? Because I already tried.

Option to BLOCK SITTERS (and OWNERS) who I don’t want to see an available sit. I have some sitters who apply again and again, even though I have not selected them in the past. If I could proactively block them, then other sitters would have a chance to apply.
