Which improvements are you consistently ask for

A calendar that works i want to be able to block out dates that I’m not available

I just read a listing from a presumably new HO as there are no previous sits/reviews.
Anyway … the dog doesn’t have an age listed under its picture. Has this always been optional to add or not? Seems a silly thing to drop, that’s important to me.

Honestly, I feel like this once again proves that flagging a listing is still an absolute must of a functionality to introduce. Time and again there are listings, and now, even more so with newly-joined HOs who simply don’t have everything set up to standard. I too just saw a listing where the pictures were just confusing, to say the least… a screenshot of someone’s phone screen with the dog in the picture, an image of people gathered at a lunch/dinner table in the garden, with the house not even clearly visible… and the home images were screenshots of a web browser with the real estate listing, where you can’t really even make distinctions of whats what.

To be able to read the welcome guide before confirming the sit especially if there are booking fees to pay.

Although, It often happened that the Welcome Guide was empty. If everything goes well, it’s fine. But once I arrived at their place, I find a note with many instructions and tasks to do for their pet and their house.

There is a weakness in the THS process at that level.

Improved alerts for favorites and saved searches.

1/Regarding multiple dates, I only receive one message on my screen with a single date when one of my favorites posts several dates. Since I’m not interested in short stays, I’d prefer not to open the app when it’s a short date, but I have to check if the listing has other dates by opening the app.

2/The notification delay for favorites isn’t instantaneous. I noticed this when my favorite appeared in the general list before I received the notification.

3/ The same for saved searches.

Publish new listings daily at a fixed time, taking into account time zone differences so that notifications arrive during the day regardless of your country of residence.

All countries with a time difference of more than 6 hours are not available because they publish their listing at night. When I wake up, the listing is already reviewing because of the 5 applications limit.

THS promises us “Travel for free,” this is absurd.

What would that be good for? I tend to look at listings in the evening.

Time zone does not matter. What matters is that there seem to be members that operate bots to send applications. It is difficult to prevent that.

Maybe you go to bed late, around midnight; I don’t. When I wake up in the morning, all my favorite’s new ads for the United States are already closed.

And new ones will start appearing after the US wakes up.

It is likely that your favourites have been marked by thousands of other members, and some of them may be operating bots.

Where can I go to find how to use a bot ?

I don’t exactly follow.

Let’s say you are in USA, and look for sits in Europe. THS fixes an hour, let’s say midday, for all European sits. Now in USA you will see them at midnight. How did fixing a time help? If we turn it around, then it will be the europeans who get the notifications at minding.

I do like the idea of fixed times when the adds go live. In addition, everyone who applies within the first hour gets in, all applicants are the put into a random order, and only then show to the host. If there is less than 5, the add stays open, otherwise it closes.

Never gonna happen. Too much work, and nothing in it for THS (plus hosts will protest, “I wanna have the control”)

@ChiaGrowth For example, if they publish the listings at 8 AM (UTC-8) time in California , the time in Europe is 4 PM (UTC+1) we are all awake.

I’m asleep when the ads in California are published starting at 2 pm ( UTC-8 ) so I can only see the ads published in the morning in California.

How else can this problem be solved besides removing the 5-application rule?

There are right now 288 active listings in California.

I have never done this, or used other tricks. Anyway, if I could tell you, the moderators would not allow it.

They are not among my favorites. I’m not interested in all the sits.

And what about the rest of the world? The world is not awake the same time - someone always has to deal with the sits popping at bad hours.

Not everyone

It would be 3am in Australia, Hong Kong & Malaysia ; 5 am in New Zealand and 6am in Hawaii …

Actually a big improvement for me would be the ability to just exclude US sits  yeah I know I can pick places I’m interested in, but there are so many of those and really if I could pick everywhere but the US and the UK that would make my searches more productive. Never gonna happen

In fact, there is one minor fix but particularly annoying detail that could be easily edited in just five seconds: highlighting unread messages in the inbox so that they are easily visible. It often happens that I have an unread message, but no matter how long I look, I simply cannot find it.

I find it incredibly frustrating when a platform’s interface makes you go on a treasure hunt just to find a single unread notification. (Could it be the reason why some members do not reply??)

p.s. Right now, I am on the hunt to find this one, so far no luck

I would like to be able to filter my favorites by country.

Almost all the suggestions in this thread are great, & valid; most speak to the day-to-day pain points of users regularly on the platform. Going through the posts, it almost reads like a product requirements doc…which would be an amazing thing for THS to post: THS: 2026 Product Roadmap.

While gathering user feedback ahead of creating such a document would be the ideal situation, at this point even a fait accompli version would be welcome.
