I am in the same position, my confirmed sitter had to cancel because of family emergency. . I posted on the place for sits that are coming up quickly. I had to make a post in another section to be considered for my post to be displayed. At least this is how I understood it. As a newbie some of this is confusing.
My only real concern for a newbie HO + a newbie sitter is that with both being inexperienced, things can fall through the cracks. Like your welcome guide: complete it as thoroughly as possible NOW, make sure the sitter knows where to find it, ask them to read it as soon as is reasonably possible rather than waiting, and ask them to ask any questions they have NOW.
