Inappropriate Questions by Pet Parents

If a home owner puts something like this on their application:

“While sitting at this place you will be responsible for any costs or damages that aren’t caused by you and you will have to tell us you have the funds for it”

They would not get applicants because it is borderline abusive to expect sitters to cover such costs. Any responsible home owner would set accounts up to pay by phone for any repairs that were a result of wear & tear, nature, etc. It’s 2025, pay by phone, pay by link, pay by smoke signal are all available (sarcasm on that last one.)

It’s a whole other thing if a sitter causes damages to a property… that is a sitter’s responsibility but home repairs, for a home the sitter has no signature on the title for? Unfair.

Imagine the rage a sitter would feel if they got a 1 star review after a 5 star sit because they didn’t offer to pony up for a home owner’s repairs- something that is NOT their responsibility?

Big yikes and a whole lotta NO.

Would never take a sit like that. In a million years.

:rofl:We were also asked this question, but it was a young dog, 12 months who was very protective of a woman who was most of the time alone living in a detached house on a big piece of land.

She trained the dog to sleep apart before we arrived and we learned the dog to sleep beside our bed.

I learn so much of just listening respectfully to what is behind the request.

This is one of the best sits ever and I an becoming better and better in listening and co-creating solutions which will be beneficial for everyone, including off course the pets.
