I recently signed up for premium membership for the benefit of coverage for a possible pet parent cancellation. I learned I need my own insurance to cover airfare should a pet parent cancel outside of the two week window.
Do you have any insurance recommendations? I’m afraid 1. a pet parent would not offer me a sit should I say I can only confirm two weeks before the sit
2. I would have to pay a premium air fare rate if I waited until the last minute (two weeks before the sit date.)
3. Thank you. I’m sure there is a solution to this.
@Gnorthrup100 with some airlines you can book a flexible fare which allows you to cancel and get a full refund .
@Gnorthrup100 Not insurance related, but there will almost always be new listings starting soon, not everyone plans long in advance. So for starters you might want to focus on those?
I have looked at that but the cost has always seemed expensive but I’ll look again next time. Thank you!
Since Covid, some airlines have become much more flexible if you need to cancel or change a flight.
Some airlines may not offer you a full REFUND, but they will allow you to maintain a credit balance for future use. That is better than losing the entire amount!
It would help for us to know where you live and where you plan to travel, and we might have knowledge of particular airlines.
If you are traveling to the UK, I agree with @botvot that there are lots of available sits and you can probably find something in short order, however, there are many parts of the world where sits are not plentiful.
