Is 5-week sit considered too long?

Agreed! The longer the sit, the better!

@Happydaiz we have completed month long sits, 2.5 month sits and 5 months sits, we would even consider longer if in the right location, and pets. But we have been doing this for many years.

So I believe it is up to the individual sitters.

I have done a 5 week sit. I think it really depends on location and pet r& house responsibilities. If your location has a lot to offer by way of things to see & do it will help to make it more appealing.

Nope, go for it. We have completed several housesits that in excess of one month duration. In early 2025, we have a housesit (friends, not THS) for almost three months

Indeed, as housesitters, we have multiple active searches for listings in excess of one month (in different countries). Longer duration is actively attractive feature for us.

Some Pet Parents have vacations in excess of one month - distant cruises; international adventures; all sorts.

Remember you don’t need to attract all housesitters. Listing process is self-selective. Provided all ok with your opportunity, those housesitters that seek month+ sits will readily apply. Good luck!

These are the sits we look for. We love longer sits because it allows us to really ‘settle’ in and the animals get used to us and create a great bond. We also find that longer sits (more than 3 weeks or so) go to ‘reviewing’ quick. So make sure that you really like all 5 sitters or start nixing some so you can find the ultimate sitter for your needs!

5 weeks isnt really considered that long. We do minimum one month usually. We just finished a four month sit. Don’t split the sit it’s just unnecessary
