Hello. We have been members on the site for several years and never had problems finding sitters until recently. In the past year, we have had very few applications and I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed this change or has any suggestions for us to improve our listing? We have positive reviews from previous sitters which I thought would help. Thanks in advance for your help!

I think your listing looks great. Your home is beautiful. Maddie sounds like a sweetheart. I like that you offer occasional alternative exercise options to taking walks, and the responsibilities listed aren’t overly taxing. My two cents: I am a native Californian who has spent a lot of time visiting family in the Bay Area (my husband is from Sonoma, my son went to UCSC, daughter went to Cal), Orinda sounded familiar, but I had to look up the location. I’m wondering if you would see more interest if your title included “San Francisco Bay Area” since Orinda is already in your location.
Your listing looks really good so I don’t think it’s the problem, maybe with everyone getting a pet during COVID there are more HO’s than Sitters (?).
We generally book international sits at least a 12-18 months in advance, so anything with less than 6 months notice (in my opinion) makes it harder for international applicants to apply for.
I like that you have made it very clear that Maddie needs toilet breaks every 5 hours, and that you have listed some locations that can be reached within that timeframe.
You could clarify whether this is a smoking/non-smoking home, and also what size bed is in the guest room.
A suggestion for improvement would be to retake some of the photos. The bedroom photo was taken in the daytime and shows the view to the outside area, whereas the others were clearly taken at night. You mention wall-to-wall windows but don’t actually have a photo featuring them with the view to outside, you also mention stunning views but haven’t included a photo of the view. Your garden looks amazing…show it off to everyone 
My suggestion would be to post the maximum number of photos allowed of the home, garden and view (even several photos of the same room but from different angles), especially of the rooms where the sitter will be spending time…if there is a shortage of sitters then you really have to sell your property

I just saw the recommendation to add day time photos to show case our views. I added a few and will add more next week. Many thanks for the great suggestion. I hope it works!
