I don’t know if this one came up here already–the elderly mother/three cat sit in San Francisco which has been reported by multiple people. Over this weekend, it would vanish and then re-appear. Seems active again and has been scrubbed of any mention of the mother being there and needing assistance–which had been buried at the very bottom of the listing previously.
I have my doubts that she will be sent elsewhere for a month, and am curious what if any due diligence THS has done in the wake of receiving so many reports of this listing.
This goes against homeowner guidelines “you mustn’t ask your sitter to perform anything that could be considered a professional service, like redecorating the house or running your home business.” House Sitting Guidelines for Pet Parents | TrustedHousesitters.com - i don’t think THS are policing their site well. I reported a sit with a dog that must be muzzled 24-7 for the duration of the stay, because this signals ‘dangerous pet’ - but stayed up for weeks afterwards. I also report listings with a housemate.
Or not. Ha, this is funny that I saw this comment just minutes after seeing a saved-search listing in which the hosts “will have put clean sh*t” for you
French is their first language so I can see “sheets” coming through that way… still, obviously no one at THS is reading this stuff.
… Well hey, I found the “report” button". Wow Found a listing that clearly states it’s a “co-living situation” with shared kitchen, living room & laundry. But you get a “private locked room”! I wonder if reporting makes any difference if the listing isn’t currently in need of a sitter. Funny thing was it has 4 reviews – none of them mentioned a shared house!
There is a photo of a group of people sharing a meal around the table - I guess they are all the house mates the sitter will be sharing meals with
Funny thing is that it’s just a cat sit ( apart from the alpacas) so you would think that there would be enough people living in the house to take care of the cats between them .
