Most pet owners reality :)

Unfortunately, that’s another food that I’m not a huge fan of. I wish I was as it’s apparently quite healthy but just not for me!

I meant to say this to you earlier @ziggy, as soon as I saw this pic you posted, it reminded me of this beautiful kangaroo called Rufus who lives at a rescue sanctuary. You might even have heard of him as he’s apparently a bit of a legend in Australia.

He knocks on the main door of the house every evening without fail and loves nothing more than spending the whole evening together with the couple who run the sanctuary all snuggled up on the sofa watching TV.

Always makes me smile when I see these photos and seeing that little dog all cosy on the couch made me immediately think of Rufus. I just had to share this.

On my most recent sit a bowl of kibble was left down all day and night for the Labrador and Jack Russell. I asked how did the Labrador resist scoffing the lot and the answer was that she doesn’t like that particular brand :joy:
However, the semi-feral cat would often come and help herself to it. And the Jack Russell loved cucumber.

That’s just like our ex-stray, who came to us straight from the streets at six months of age! She’s never chewed anything but her toys and she’s never tried to steal food at home. If it’s on a table (even a coffee table), she won’t touch it.

But we do give her scraps

@Shannon Taking dogs on public transport in Oz and quite possibly NZ is also something not allowed unless it is an assistance dog. If you don’t have a car, and are reliant on public transport on your sits, this could be an issue, depending on where your sits are located. Perhaps make sure a car is included in the sit.

@Chatsetchiens OMG that is amazing! I must admit to not having heard of the Rufus story before. Now I am searching everything about him  Very VERY unusual and never seen anything like that. Thanks for sharing  Have you heard about Molly the Magpie and Peggy and Ruby the Staffies? Pictures here but well worth Googling the videos on them, hilarious. Beautiful stories all of them :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This is beautiful. I really appreciate you sharing this with me too. I’m an absolute sucker for a heart-warming animal story so love hearing of any new ones I didn’t know about.

I especially love the ones that show such a strong friendship between animals of totally different species.

It reminds me of Tara and Bella, a dog and an elephant that had a wonderful friendship at an animal sanctuary. They were such close friends that the elephant stayed waiting outside for hours while her best friend was being operated on when she was unwell.

Glad you love the Rufus story as much as I do. He’s a real character and loves his sofa snuggles.

We got our little dog at 6 month from a breeder and since we traveled quite a lot at that time throughout Britain she practically was growing up in hotels. She eats everything that’s edible (or not in our eyes) and loves every veggie and fruit that’s allowed for dogs. She’s in her 14th year now and for her breed that’s quite old.
