Murphy's Law Always When Expecting A Sitter

Yeah no I’m not gonna sell a kidney to go to that :joy:

I have a friend who works for TJ’s and says they are also the greatest employers, that’s good to know. BUT.. the prepackaging is an issue for conservationists. Think of all that plastic netting and plastic packaging that is needlessly ending up in our ocean, doing harm to the marine life. Microplastics are in all fish now! Which means in us fish eaters! I try to buy in bulk from natural food stores as possible to reuse containers and minimize my footprint on our poor fatigued Mother Earth. It’s hard, I know, and not always possible.

I agree, @sandydandy . I feel so hyper-aware of plastic- and over-packaging these days…I practically wince every time I see it. I’ve recently started doing research to try to find more stores in our area that sell in bulk or allow you to bring your own containers.

I just don’t understand why everything is wrapped and double-wrapped in plastic and film, when we all know how damaging it is.

Grabbed equestrian, beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, and baseball tickets. Quite a bill but we’re happy.

For grins and giggles we looked at opening and closing ceremonies. Opening ceremonies weren’t even offered in the round. Closing ceremonies, which I find the most boring part of any Olympics, were offered at….wait for it…$4000 per ticket :rofl::rofl:

Glad you got tickets. I received my email time slot starting tomorrow. My husband, who signed up on the last day of registration, received a time slot that’s how we knew about the pricing. I’m going to look tomorrow to see if there is anything else I want to see. I’m going to the gold medal round for women’s diving so I will at least get to see one event. I really want to see tennis, but dang the prices are crazy!

Agree on the prices! My husband got a time slot too so we’ll peek again, but we’re happy with what we snagged!

Also, Mr. Murphy touches HO directly too. My very careful sitters said they don’t want to break anything. I said don’t worry we break things all the time.

Then, coincidentally, broke a glass an hour later. I wasn’t trying to be an example, but see - it happens, folks.

A cheap IKEA glass. Don’t care a bit!!!

How thoughtful! I have rarely been offered anything! Only a couple times

wow, that’s above and beyond. What a bummer, but if I were the sitter I would have been fine with the garbage disposal not working; as a matter of fact, my housesits usually don’t have them. But you’re definitely showing that you care and I hope they appreciate it.
