“2 hours”?? Respectfully, that is a lot to put on a free sitter.
We’re retired, what else would we be doing? There’s a wide variety of sitters in the THS community. THS is a matching service. We like dog walking and being outdoors, it’s fun! We also like being indoors watching Netflix or cooking. We mostly sit in order to visit family so we stay local to them, often the dog will go with us on a walk to visit family ….or we’ll meet at a cafe/park. It’s convenient for our lifestyle.
Yes but not all sitters are retired. I walk the dogs a lot too but I would see it as a red flag to be expected to do that. But you’re right! there are so many different matches on THS which is great!
I posted a review one time that factually reported the person doing something negative and that person threatened me so much I took the review down!
Off topic I know but people can be scary.
Omg! That should’ve been reported. Im sorry you went through that :/. Hostility should not be allowed on ths.
Unfortunately, there are sitters that misrepresent themselves and somehow got great reviews without proper pet care. Ask about how they take care of dogs on your video chat. I talk about how I am pretty regular. Having a dog in NYC, you have to get up and take the dog out first thing in the morning and late at night. Apartment living. But I do 4 walks, 5 hours apart. I get my own exercise walking dogs. These kind of things indicate the type of sitter you will get. I am also a light sleeper. If a dog walks into my room, I generally wake up, even before they make a noise, to let them out. So I am good with dogs that need to go out in the middle of the night, which happened during a 3 week sit in Orange County this summer. Luckily, there was a backyard and it went out, peed, came back.
