So we have a bad situation where the sitter was dishonest and very shady…. Don’t believe I can give full details otherwise this posting will not be approved….
All said and done we talked with THS and they coached us on doing a honest review which we did…. Gave them 3 stars and started it off nice but did acknowledge the items of concerns for future people that choose them…
So of course…. They fire back with a 1 star and a rant of lies……. Does it bother me, of course but I’m done with the nut job…… but what sucks is that I can’t block them and now I worry, that how do I know this person won’t try to come back when they know I’m not home from a future posting…… or even now?
It’s pretty crazy that they can have our home address and we have no knowledge of them….
Also, I discovered that they changed their address.…. Previously was Michigan (Why we chose them) ) now it is a city a hour away from me ?? I do love THS but they definitely lost love from us on making us feel safe……
Anyways, anyone got any helpful advice or should I just move on?
Really feel for you, what an awful situation. Can you tell THS support your concerns and if they can block the sitter from seeing your posts for future sits?
Hi. I feel for you. It is awful to think that they may come back when you aren’t home. If it helps any at all, an hour is a long way to go to get even with someone. And it’s probably a big step to go from leaving a nasty review to actually committing a felony. I’m hoping your sitter is just a keyboard warrior. Maybe next time you have a sitter, mention to them in advance that you had a not so great experience with the last one, and to keep a close eye on your home while you are gone? I think they’ll probably see that from the review your sitter left.
Also, just to explain why sitters change their locations, we do it to reflect where we currently are sitting (if we are looking for more sits in the same area). So our home base is in city A, but we will put down city B, C, D etc, just depending on where we will be spending the next month or so. It helps homeowners that are looking for ‘local’ sitters since THS doesn’t have a search function that allows sitters to post where they want to go.

Thank you for your response. And that does make sense now in regards to why they would change their address. It just sucks that we thought they were in a different state……
I doubt they will come back, but let’s be honest. Nowadays, You just don’t know people on how far they would go with craziness…… That’s also the reason why I didn’t respond back to their negative feedback…. And yes, you are correct. I’m really good with my sense of humor…… ( I Believe, ) So I’m just gonna put a woody statement in my bio about having the one bump in the road if you don’t believe me, read the past comments…. Something like that.
I would make sure THS knows about all this. We had a similar situation with a nightmare sitter leaving 1-star reviews after we left an honest review of them, and we wanted to make sure they knew this person’s history in case other HO had similar experiences.
So good news at least from what I believe on my side.
Yes, of course, I have continuously look back at the past Sitter to see what people would say moving forward….
Apparently two sits later someone else almost word for word said what I said, and warned people about this person…… And the previous sitter attacked her, just as she had attacked us on the comments….
On a weird note, it gave me the satisfaction I needed to prove that she was a little bit unbalanced in the head……
