I have joined THS but I am not quite ready to start petsitting yet. I am really looking forward to getting out there, and have already learned a lot from y’all, thanks! I have been working on my profile and would appreciate if someone would take a look. I will eventually get more references, no problem. Maybe too long? Seems like more info is appropriate for newbies, but I may have overdone it!? Thanks!
I think it sounds great all around and I don’t think it is too long at all. Well-written and does a good job of conveying your experience with animals. It has a nice energy too. My husband and I have a pretty long profile and we have gotten a lot of positive feedback on it over the years. Homeowners said it really helped them get a sense of who we are as people as well as our experience. Good luck…I am sure you will have no problem landing sits!
Welcome @Hikergal. Your profile reads really well, photos show your love of dogs, in particular, and it’s easy to see you have put time and thought into it. It’s not too lengthy as owners do like to get a “feel” about their prospective sitters. You come across as a very caring person, both in your professional and personal life, and will make a great house and pet sitter. Although you say you’re not quite ready, why not apply for a few local, short, last minute sits to get a feel for it and get those first few reviews? Enjoy the next exciting stage in your life as a pet sitter!
Hello and welcome! I took a look for you and your profile is honestly lovely - I think you should have no problems attaining sits, just go for it! The first sit my partner and I ever did, we had no references, little past experience, and it was a sit abroad in Portugal for a month. We never even met the HO in person due to travel times not aligning, so they just left keys for us to let ourselves in! It was a great sit and everything went well. You will find all sorts of HO’s, so don’t stress if you don’t have many references to begin with. I’m sure you will do just fine

Thanks for checking it Temba and the welcome. Glad it conveys a feel for who I am. I am so ready for the next stage and some freedom! I will definitely start with short and sweet local sits, hopefully get some reviews before moving on to grander adventures!
