Hi @karen_v thank you for the great recommendation
It’s lovely to have you here @karen_v feel free to chat here any time!
This seems like the right post to talk about my latest home improvement for cat lovers. I’ve always been concerned about my cats, or my spouse, or me accidently turning on the gas stove. I was looking for some kind of covers to stop this. I was impressed by a review that specifically mentioned “murderous cats” and thought: Exactly!
So for the remarkably low price of $12, I now have piece of mind. Of course my cats could come up with OTHER ways to kill me, but not this one.
@Marion Thank you for sharing this, what a great idea, but mainly for making me smile regarding Murderous cats!
Let us know if you find any other ways to “cat protect” yourself! as it’s a super interesting topic!
This is the perfect place to share your home improvements! Thank you for sharing. As @Carla said, we’d love to hear about any others you have!
Our coffee café in Turkey is pretty cosy thinks Lou Lou
Home improvement here being a wood burner that was much missed in warmer Asia….

@Cuttlefish Lou Lou is looking very regal and I have wood burner envy being in Colorado without one! We were lucky enough to have a few winter sits with a wood burning and there is something quite special about snuggling up with the pets watching the fire crackle! Enjoy every moment
@Maggie8K Oh so cute!
We were lucky enough to care for our friend’s cat Slinky over the weekend and previously housesat for one month for him in the summer, so are now firm friends.
We brought him a cat tunnel, which he loves but loves the cardboard box more and he has his own blanket on the sofa, but again loves mine much more!
He even sleeps in my case as soon as I open it! Love this little guy
Feel free to share any gifts you have brought pets or repeat sits stories/photos!
Hii im new here and I just wanted to say that I love emmenthal. but in terms of swiss cheese I think la Gruyère is undefeateable!
Wow Sam that’s spectacular!
Thank you for sharing your joy.
PS @Sam_F I see you perfect
@Carla So try to describe marmite to me? I’ll try anything once.
I couldn’t finish an Irn Bru in Scotland though. Awful. With apologies to the Scots here.
@Sam_F Do you live there or are you on a sit? Absolutely breathtaking!
I hope you don’t mind me jumping in while @Carla is offline, @anon42826925! I LOVE marmite! It’s a salty, savoury taste - I think the word would be “umami”. Have you had Vegemite or Bovril before? It’s comparable to those but they’re not as tasty.
When did you try Irn Bru? It went downhill after 2018.
As a Scot, I truly love it, but can no longer drink it since the UK government brought in a sugar tax around 2018, meaning that most sodas had their sugar content reduced and sweeteners added instead. I can’t stand the taste of artificial sweeteners and it ruined most soda for me! I tend to buy overseas brands now e.g. Arizona Ice Tea, Jarritos, etc.
Irn Bru now does a slightly more expensive variation called Irn Bru 1901 which is full sugar and caffeine-free, and it’s closer to the original.
Hi @anon42826925 we finished our latest sit 10 days ago and are now enjoying a post sit stay in St Moritz and then exploring the surrounding areas! The scenery is spectacular.
