Good for you, if you have a strong stomach and can live in any given conditions. 
I could simply not. Or: I would have to stop to cook or even eat something in the kitchen and had to survive just on cookies or outdoor food. Compared to that, I prefer to clean a flat. But I would even more prefere, if the house owners leave their flat in a good condition from the start.

If you must know…city water, bad building. Homeowner said not to cook or drink the water. Cat had bottled water. This was not discussed on our call so a surprise. And as it was rusty, a bit smelly, and stung my eyes, I decided to believe her that it was not drinkable. But, next time I use my water test kit.
And btw, I know what hard water and calcuim deposits are…that was only a fraction of the issue. But, please if you have any other tidbits I need to know…please, please

@LIQ i don’t doubt he went through my drawers but ultimately I can’t prove that. I threw out the bedsheets he’d slept on

@wendy_chicago I’ve left a very honest review on his profile, I’m almost certain he will struggle to get sits after my review. Interestingly enough, the couple he went straight to after me also left a negative review of him today

@Twitcher I have taken your advice and left a one star review detailing only the facts of what he’s done. I have included the positives from the sit (there weren’t many) and I have raised a complaint to Trusted House sitters. Hopefully he will be removed. I notice that the sit he was at after me also posted negative feedback…
I’ve made a complaint to THS, hopefully he will get barred from the platform and yes he was stupid enough to put this into writing - I have saved the screenshots

@JeanetteK Everything you described sounds so terrible. I’m very sorry you had to go through all that. You mentioned that he had good reviews and didn’t come across strange during your interview. Such a starkly ugly experience by contrast. I wonder if he had some kind of breakdown or went off medication, because if he’d done similarly before, it would be a wonder that he would’ve gotten good reviews. Whatever the cause, though, no HO should have such a sitter. I hope THS doesn’t allow him to sit again. What a horror show.
I might’ve missed this on the thread, but if you’ve filed a complaint with THS, will you please let us know whether he’s forced off the platform or what?
I’ve done 80+ sits on THS and until the last few weeks of reading on this forum I didn’t realise Pet Only reviews were a thing. Back when I joined reviewing HOs was pretty unusual - I remember being suprised the first time someone requested a review - but in recent years I’ve gone with the interpretation that no reviews (especially en masse) might be a red flag. I’d rather HS leave no reviews than ones written in some code. A recent sit I accepted despite poor comms initially unfortunately turned into one of those lessons learnt situations but leading up to it I took some comfort in reading the previous reviews from other HS… now I’m convinced I missed some key codewords (or lack thereof).

I know, it’s hard to read between the lines especially if it’s written in a positive way with no way of knowing if they intentionally didn’t say something. Argh.

Thank you @JeanetteK for the update and hopefully now you have done your review and raised a complaint with THS that will be the end of it.
I hope forum members have given you hope that there are great sitters out there and I understand you have had positive experiences in the past… You have definitely helped future homeowners avoid a similar situation by giving the honest factual review.

@MaggieUU Thankfully I have a very thick mattress protector on my bed which has now been boiled washed. Still can’t bring myself to sleep in that room though knowing that he’s been in my bed. It was a fairly cheap mattress from IKEA so maybe I will burn it
