POSTAGE - How does yours compare?

Hi Temba, I am not sure that it is. I know there is not a daily sertvice where I live. Very noticeable at Christmas when no post for a few days and then a lot of cards sent on various days, all arrive together.

Hi GotYourBack. I have also always sent a few Jacqui lawson ecards. However they seem to have changed their website or something, as it is now only accessable in English speaking countries such as UK and America. I am in Cyprus at the moment for a few weeks and I could no0t get into the site. It just came up as Acccess Denied. Found a forum where others in Cyprus had the same problem as well as other countries. I eventually managed to find an email address to contact them and they confirmed it was not available in Cyprus. It would have been helpful if they had notified people of all the countries now being denied access. Had I have known, I could have sent all my cards whilst stil at home in the UK, with an advance date closer to Christmas, for them to be sent. Worth knowing if travelling, so you can check if access will be denied in a country you are visiting. I had never had a problem when in Cyprus in previous years.

I sent Christmas cards from Australia some weeks before Christmas and they arrived some weeks later! Still, the thought was there! :joy::rofl:

We don’t have a daily service @Visit and posting a letter to a neighbouring town can take at least a week! It’s easier to hand deliver!

That sounds about right but Royal Mail can share the responsibility too

Yes, I noticed decades ago, when I went to work abroad, that U.S. postal rates were cheap compared with various other countries’. It helped me stop taking that for granted.

On the whole, I’ve found the U.S. postal service pretty good, my having lived in many cities, across a bunch of states.

That reminds me that I should buy our carrier a Christmas gift, which many people do in the U.S.

Hi, Just wanted to mention to those who send via Jacqui Lawson instead of posting that I have just recieved an ecard from Jacqui Lawson. Recieved an email to clixck loing to view…and then it said access denied. :frowning: I am in Cyrus at the moment and had recently dicovered, that since they have changed websites or whatever that my access was denied to get even to the homepage. No notification was ever recieved from the company, to say that certain countries would now have accessed denied. I don’t know if anyone, who is able to get into the site can discover a list anywhere, of all the countries that are now denied access? But just thought to warm people, that some of the ecards you send, may not be able to be opened by the recipients. Defiinitely not in Cyprus. Found a forum where others in Cyprus were complaining at now being denied access. Could be the same for other European countries etc.? Is it now only available in UK, America, Canada perhaps? Would be interested to know, if there is a list anywhere, of countries that are now denied acces to recieve JL ecards and also to send them?

I am a member @Visit - will have a look and report back. I am based in the UK.

Thanks Twitcher, I am also based in the UK, will be back late Thursday. It sounds like another company going down hill and not notifying people of changes. I had hoped to send all my ecards wjhilst in Cyprus but had my access denied. When I did eventually find a way to contact the company they just said access in Cyprus currently unavailable. I didn’t realise that also meant unable to receive and an immediate ‘ACCESS DENIED’ would come up. I have a few friends in Cyprus that I would have sent ecards to., so is now highly frustrating. Previously I had been able to send and receive from anywhere in the world.

I have just looked at the reviews for Jacqui Lawson on Trust Pilot. They are absolutley dior and far worse than TH. An extemely low 1.7 and the vast majority are only 1 star.

@Visit I use Jacqui Lawson e-cards in Australia and had no trouble logging in just then. I’ve never had an issue with them and very happy with their service. Checking them on Trust Pilot will make a change from checking on another company .

Hi Temba, I woud have been sayig the same as you if back in England. Hp0wever I cam over to Cyprus a month ago. Never had any issues here before or any other country but this time I just get ACCESS DENIED. I had to get somebody at home to access and let me know a contact email address. Took a week to get a reply and then simply informed that access wasn’t now available in Cyprus. I found a Cyprus forum whjer others were complaing that they were also blocked from the site. I do not know if just Cyprus or many otyher countries denied access also. But I thought to make people aware that they could be sending ecards to people, who have access denied to actually open them. Would like to know if Cyprus is the only country now denied access, or all of Europe and other countries?

Hi, Just an update o Jacqui Lawson. I sent an email a week ago to say I was npow receiving notifications that I had cards to view but an Access Denied’ message when I attempted to view.
Just received this reply from them.

We apologise, but the service is still unavailable in your region and there is nothing further we can do to re-enable access, at this time.

We do appreciate your feedback and concerns and will forward them to the appropriate team.

Best wishes,
Claudia

They did not answer when I queried, if just Cyprus having access denied, or any other countries.

Thankfully now back in the UK and am able to access everything on the site.
As this problem was first noticed several weeks ago by me and numerous others in Cyprus they realluy should have sorted it out by now. Clearly not their priority.

It might be a taxation issue, which they can’t fix if they don’t want to pay. Some companies fly under the radar and then hit a certain size and catch officials’ notice. But companies often won’t discuss that publicly.

Hi Maggie,

You could be right. If it was just some bug in the works they would have fixed it by now. Stating that there is nothing further that they can do rather points to perhaps taxation issues with Cyprus that they have no intention of paying.

I also had a response from them but not much help I am afraid.
No answer to my specific question about Cyprus.
They basically said contact the live chat or helpline (sound familiar)??

Hi Twitcher, No, they did not direct me to live chat or he;pline, they just said not available in my area.. I ddi just do a google search and it came up with this.

Jacquie Lawson cards aren’t unavailable

globally, but recent user reports suggest access blocks from certain countries, potentially including Cyprus, due to regional restrictions or technical issues with email delivery, though the main reason for some features (like photo uploads) ending was the discontinuation of Adobe Flash. If you’re in Cyprus, you might face an “Access Denied” message, possibly fixed by cleaning up old contacts or requiring a VPN to access, but receiving might also be blocked for recipients in restricted areas, so contacting Jacquie Lawson support directly is best.

And their support did not help, as just said access unavailable in Cyprus. :frowning:
As now back in UK. I am ok for now. I did though, always send a few ecards to some friends in Cyprus, which clearly I can no longer do, as they will not receive.
