Pros and cons of asking potential sitters for references

I also gave them my email and phone number and my last name….They can google me though I’m a contract worker for the local gov so they won’t find much. But yeah it’s a weird request!

I’m not sure your resume/CV should be any of their business. . . . Personally, I would pass on such a sit.

@RosiePosie yeahhh I just cancelled my application. I also saw they relisted their posting this morning. They’re still shopping around for sitters so they probably picked me as their backup sitter or something

Looking back at our conversation I realize I briefly mentioned that I had multiple jobs in my teens and early 20’s working with animals (mostly wildlife though) so my best guess is they just wanted more information about that

As an HO, I don’t want randos contacting me on the site to ask me to expand on the review I already left. Either trust the system in place or try a different platform for finding a sitter!

You can do that with a bit of detective work @KellySue_Nate either through linked in or Airbnb links. As @belluca says though, unless it’s exceptional or there’s an iffy review then the reviews themselves should surely suffice on a “trusted” site :+1:t3:
