Is toilet paper listed as an amenity on the listing? If so, then I wouldn’t replace it. Usually also listed can be cooking oil, salt ā€˜n’ pepper, shampoo etc. If they are listed then I would never replace any of them.

Ok. I would be really petty and count the squares I’d used and leave the exact number. What next, metered water in the shower? 2 minutes and then it automatically switches off.

Don’t houses have bum guns though?!

getting more popular in the states, as I have stayed in many places retrofitted with them. But this is a more original build state.

If I was on a sit where toilet paper was not included, I would definitely not do a return sit for those home owners.

Maybe she usually lists longer sits and it only applies to those ist, and for that, I agree with @HappyDeb - just buy a pack and leave it there. We would do that. It’s courtesy more than anything.

But for a 4 day sit, I’d just ignore the request.

actually this is a relatively long sit. She travels a lot for 2 days and has those listed. I am leaving today. Just filling up her bathroom with the ones from the supply in the garage. Even when I went to do the laundry, sheets and towels, there were 4 packets of detergent. No other supply. I bring my own detergent anyway. I hope there are cleaning supplies. Usually I have a spray comet with bleach, but left it at my daughter’s. Do not want to run out and buy something.

I also recommend Morrow Bay, apparently there are many sea otters there. And Avila is nice. The humpbacks are hanging there now. I think I will do a day trip, or overnight hotel, in Jan to see that area. It is really beautiful on the coast.

Yes! Morro Bay has a baby otter nursery near the T-pier. I think it is early in the season, but the moms float close to shore, caring for the babies; the cuteness is incredible. Depending on how much time you have, you might enjoy the drive up the coast through Big Sur, into Carmel, with a stop at Nepenthe. If you’re ever in the area in December, the Christmas market in Cambria is lovely.

Nope—that’s the price for having me as a sitter. :roll_of_paper::roll_of_paper::roll_of_paper::roll_of_paper::roll_of_paper:

thanks. I was looking at a trip right after News year. Have a 3 day window. After that it would be second half of Feb. The problem here is that you couldn’t be away for 2 hours. And the dog really sheds. Didn’t want to bring it in my new car.

I just read that the otter pupping peaks from October through January, so your timing should allow you some nice baby viewing!

Thanks. Looking forward to it.

Check to see if in their amenities on their post says bathroom basics included. If it does bring that up with them. I mean thousands $$$$ saved on pet care how cheap can these HO’s actually be?

I can’t believe that anyone asks people staying in their house to replace toilet paper! Do their visitors have to bring their own? It’s just weird.

Strangely I just went shopping earlier this week and stocked up on……….yes, you guessed, toilet paper because we are heading off for three weeks and our sitter will need toilet paper!

Update, did not replace the TP from my supply but from the supply in the garage and got 5 stars all across. So maybe it was just making sure there was TP in the bathroom.

 I wonder if she expects you to hit up the local Comfort Inn the day before the sit ends…

We got creative & supplemented with flushable wipes, which were somehow more available…& you use less of them.

When needs must… :joy:
