Unfortunately, this host had a number of unavoidable constraints and extenuating circumstances which made it difficult for them to be as choosy as they might like. But I agree: star ratings aren’t the be-all for determining a good fit or a reliable sitter, especially for an extended sit.
I sympathize with their situation; I’m just not sure what else they could have done under the circumstances.
