Hello, sitters who are in the area and are up for meeting for a drink or lunch, please let me know.
We could meet up in town, at say the Hotel du Vin, maybe this coming Friday or Saturday, Sept. 22 or 23.
The hotel has a restaurant/bar with outdoor seating if we want to bring dogs. They also have a covered area if it rains and we can’t move inside with dogs.
Excellent, I am free any time during the day Friday and anytime at all Saturday and would love to meet up with yourself and others, thanks for arranging.
Great, @Shannon! Sounds like you and I are both flexible on Friday or Saturday, so let’s wait and see whether @Angela_L and @Cuddleseaker have a preference.
Would welcome any other sitters or HOs, of course.
Once we have a solid idea how many will join, I can make us a reservation.
Sure thing, @Angela_L. How about you pick a time on Friday, since @Shannon and I are flexible.
Friday also works better for @Cuddleseaker, though she’s just starting a sit and wants to see how her pet does before deciding whether she can join us.
Great. I’ll make a lunch reservation for us. And of course, others are welcome to join us. I can always adjust the reservation.
12:30 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 22, at the Hotel du Vin. 7-8 Rother St, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6LU. (The main hotel entrance is on the driveway next to a church.)
I think my dog will be okay, apparently he can get a little excited at first, but soon calms down, so count me in!
I’ll have to leave by 2.30 but it will be lovely to meet you all… Stella
@Maggie8K, love the idea of having sitter Meetup’s. If I was anywhere near, would snap up your offer.
Thanks for the idea. I might try it myself as will set off for Bosham near Chichester for 3 weeks tomorrow! Guess I just assume no one else would be nearby… !
Thank you for booking this @Maggie8K. I really enjoyed meeting you, @Shannon and @Angela_L . It was great to learn a little about your THS journeys.
If anyone is thinking about a THS Meetup, I’d highly recommend it!
Absolutely second that. Thank you for arranging this. It was lovely to meet everyone and the very well behaved pooches. It was so interesting to hear a bit of the adventures that have led us to this path we are currently on and to share some of our common experiences from being members of THS. Thanks again.
My pleasure. It was great to meet you all (and Merlin) and to hear about some of your adventures, @Cuddleseaker, @Shannon and @Angela_L. Yet another thing that I’m grateful that THS has given me the chance to do.
For any sitters and/or hosts, if you get the chance to participate in or to organize a meetup, I highly recommend it.
@Angela_L, you know how you mentioned how often sitters and hosts happen to have things in common? Well, tonight I was looking for some salt in the kitchen cabinets (few of which I’ve opened before, admittedly, since I don’t cook one lick, LOL). I opened a cabinet and lo and behold, the HOs have mugs in patterns identical to some of my dishes back home.
