THS Feedback: Show canceled sits on profile

I completely understand your frustration. I’ve faced last-minute cancellations from hosts too, leaving me scrambling for solutions. It’s disheartening, especially when THS can’t help because it falls within policy.

Life is unpredictable, and plans can change for valid reasons. Instead of reacting with frustration and leaving “Karen Reviews,” let’s foster understanding within our community. It’s like refusing to tip a waiter simply for being late with water. By supporting each other, we can create a more compassionate environment, even when things don’t go as planned.

THS allows you to file a complaint and then they address it with the host or sitter. I don’t think it’s a good look for THS to have that feature on profiles because it could mean less sitters for the person who wrote the review. I would actually be more weary of the host who goes out of their way to leave a negative review. To me it would seem like they might be very very picky and keep me from applying.
I have had hosts cancel on me but things happen.

Any cancellation statistics should be two-way. Two Pet Parents have cancelled on us on the start date of international sit. Each had their reason. Stuff happens. We wish them well. But it was stressful. Any cancellation statistic probably would have to have a brief comment box.

That said, I’d be truly astonished if THS had any motivation to progress this. The possibility, nevermind historical data, for sit cancellations is notably absent from THS marketing. Without public data then it’s impossible to know the ballpark number/% of sit cancellations; or whether cancellation by pet parent / housesitter; or other aspects. THS has no incentive at all to draw attention to sit cancellations - other than in nudging people to buy premium memberships.
