Hi, we have our first international sit coming up and beginning to get a bit worried about border control. We will be arriving from UK into Orlando and have done our online esta visa forms and will be traveling throughout the USA for almost 8 weeks. We have our return flights booked and are celebrating our retirement , so we are not youngsters. I have been reading horror stories of people not being allowed to enter when they mention THS and wondered if any Brits had recently gone to Orlando and what their border control experience was like.
I know not to mention pet sitting and will be stating we are on a retirement roadtrip vacation but would love to know if any British folk had been questioned. Thanks for reading
I’d just say I was on holiday. I think the immigration just want to know why you’re arriving and where you’re staying. And if you’ve return flights. I could be wrong……
I’m also going to the States in three weeks but I’m not really worried. I’m Spanish and last time I went I didn’t even have to talk to anyone, just passed through automatic control. I was once taken apart to be questioned, that time I was only taking a connection but the person at the border control thought I had too many stamps in my passport. It was really just a formality and I was soon allowed to proceed to the boarding area. I wouldn’t worry but I will not mention housesitting if they don’t really understand the concept they can deny me access. Anyway, the conversation won’t be long enough for me to get into details. Hopefully.
I’ll let you know if anything happens.
Last time I went they just wanted the address of where we were staying. When we were leaving and details of our return flight. We were on a road trip
