What am I expected to pay for?

Yes exactly.

Our rule of thumb, HOs, is to let sitters know up front that they’ll Have everything they need, and that we have an account set up with the vet in the unlikely event it’s needed. Anything that they end up, needing for our pet that we haven’t thought of, to message and we will transfer money right away.

Sitter should never be out of pocket for caring for my pet or home.

It’s all sorted as of this afternoon but thanks for the input, I’ve learned a lot and it’s wonderful to get so much response from helpful people on here
Have a good weekend :sunflower:

@co_ri_na if if this has been solved - you as the Op can tick :white_check_mark: solution box on one of the posts that answered your question ( even your own post ) .

Thanks for that, it looks like that has been done already?

I always make sure that the litter boxes have been freshly cleaned and fresh litter put in. The food containers are topped up and I pull out a fresh blister pack of medication, just so there’s no doubt about having enough.

For the vet, I had one sitter who was a complete angel and took one of my cats in when she was having trouble. I had told the clinic to bill me, but the message didn’t get relayed, and they asked the sitter to pay. The sitter paid out of pocket, and I paid them back as soon as I got home (I was embarrassed that they were asked to pay, but they were good about it). I have since asked my vet to put a (bigger) note in my account to confirm that I should be billed in a situation like this in the future.
