If there are no photos of the living space, you can make the admin team aware of it and they can ask the HO to get their profile up to spec. Photos of living spaces are required but after the initial approval HOs can change their profiles and photos however they like.
@Carrie - start looking for those running shoes!
For us it’s really important to see photos of the house (inside and out) as we like to know where we will be staying.
What I don’t get is the HO who do post interior shots but they are akin to a Home and Garden magazine with artistic pics of a vase of flowers on a table with the depth of field slightly blurred behind the vase… good photography skills but useless to a sitter!
Similarly with photo overload; I’ve seen listings with photos of EVERY bedroom, with no tag description saying which one is the one(s) for the sitters use.
@Carrie We prefer really detailed responsibility lists in the initial sit post, especially where it says how long pets can be left for etc, as it means we can discard ones which are too restrictive (pets can’t be left alone or for very short periods etc). Saves us the time in writing a bespoke message and the HO time replying with answers to our queries only for us to say sorry not a good fit for us.
@Carrie there is also a topic about ‘Red Flags’ - if you wanted to have a read on there as well.
@Carrie: As noted by @CoolCatAunt, house photos are required. I just checked, and the current listing requirement is 5 photos, including 1 each of bedroom (guest), kitchen, living area, and bathroom (guest):
So, if a listing doesn’t have that, you can message the PP and ask them to fix it. You can also report the listing to TH via the Help button in the bottom-right of the website:
It’s possible a PP’s listing may be old (before photo requirements), and they may just not have been asked to update. Or maybe they removed some photos but forgot to add new ones.
Hello Vanessa -
I no longer know the best place to send HO’s that just do not post photos…
hi @carpediem16, in the future please send these in a Direct Message to myself or any of the other moderators and we will send them to the appropriate team that will handle it. Thank you for alerting us to these.
Sorry, I meant to do that!
