My third TH sit was 3 weeks in a 19th C listed castle in Somerset with a pair of labs and a pair of cats followed by a week with a great flat-coat in an Edinburgh row house. (Still canāt believe I got so lucky.)
The castle had three floors, but since it was a castle, the lower floors were actually double height. My bedroom was on the middle floor and had an attached bath/toilet. But if I wanted a shower I had to go to the top level where the family bedrooms were - so a 5 floor walkup for a shower.

Staying in a castle sounds awesome @toml 
although not so much the five floor walk up to the shower! Was the castle warm or a little colder with high ceilings?
