We’ve run into that as well including at Athens but I think it’s 3 hours. By the time you get through what can be a long check-in and security you get closer to 2 hours in the lounge.
We are in the Athens lounge. As you can see it’s not busy, and it’s got a decent selection of breakfast foods, a coffee station with cakes, a bar, and under the bar are refrigerated drinks including sodas, juices, and water. Say hi to my wife ![]()
We used the Kuala Lumpur International. lounge a few weeks ago. It was very crowded (hard to find anywhere to sit) and the food was just average. Alcoholic drinks were not included and expensive - £8 for a glass of wine - but it’s a Muslim country. Overall not at all relaxing.
We tried to use the lounge in Saigon/ Ho Chi Minh City a few weeks earlier and that one was closed.
I’ll be flying out of Lisbon in a few weeks, so I will use my lounge passes there. I’ll report back on how it is.
With the possibilty that many people will be forced to upgrade to premium but have no intention to travel, it would be good if there was a ‘repository’ where they could leave the passes for others to use.
@idocsteve thanks for those photos , good to be able to check it out. And your wife, I think you might be punching above your weight there
lucky man. Before any one chips me, no disrespect, just joking with my mate Steve ![]()
Thanks @Silversitters . It seems that, like me, nobody knew it was there. Maybe in the future.
We used IST Istanbul IGA a few weeks ago and it was pretty good. Yes busy but super comfy seats, open bar, decent WiFi, showers & loads of food options. Plus the staff are sweet in there. It’s €110 per person if you just rock up so the pass is absolutely worth it! They were fine with 3 hours too. Will report back on HK
in a couple of weeks

@idocsteve, good shout out. An extra feature of the THS airport lounge passes is that they can be assigned to anyone.
We passed through Athens airport lounge only a few days before you
on way to UK.
We are privileged to have airport lounge passes through credit cards and a bank account (we reworked various services after embracing full-time housesit lifestyle). So on two occasions we have used THS airport lounge pass for use by a family member that has travelled to join us (with pet parent permission) on our housesit adventures.
In our experience then airport lounges vary a great deal by location. From small basement rooms to modern runway-facing lounges. Hats off to Berlin for a lovely lounge.
Noone needs an airport lounge. But they can enhance the travel experience. I recall a thread (by @Garfield I think ) a while ago on optional purchases (premium economy seats, etc) that can boost travel enjoyment.
