Late to the party but, if the OP is really interested in pet sitting, I would really encourage them to keep trying. Homeowners can understandably be reluctant to pick newbies with few or no reviews. Especially, as noted, in popular locations. It took me eight applications to get a first sit, and half of those were in a very popular location.
